Treasures to last
Cocobolo Bowl£58 SOLD
A stunning Cocobolo hand turned bowl. The grain says it all with this bowl, and one of my favourite woods for that very reason. As you can see it is a squared bowl with an outer ridge and down turned corners.
Cocobolo
Because of its great beauty and high value it has been heavily exploited and is now in danger of extinction outside of
national parks and preserves. It is listed as threatened in " Costa Rica." The Wood: One of the true tropical rosewoods,
Cocobolo is a very beautiful wood, ranging from a beautiful rich dark brick red, to reddish or dark brown, with a figuring
of darker irregular traces weaving through the wood. It is fine textured and oily in look and feel. The wood has excellent
working characteristics and the natural oils give the wood a natural luster. Cocobolo is highly durable and strong, but,
because of its scarcity and high value, it is used for its rare beauty rather than its strength or durability.
as with all my peices it is signed dated, numbered and has the name of the wood engraved into the base. It also comes with a certificate of authenticity on parchment paper This is a one of a kind peice and once its gone its gone! Size 200mm x 49mm or 8" x 2" approx Postage and Packing included |
