Masur Birch and Rosewood Goblet

This wooden Goblet is one of my show pieces with the main body and base being Masur Birch accented with Sonokeling Rosewood. The grain in bot the Masur Birch and Rosewood is superb, something unfortunately poto's cannot show. This would make a wonderful ornamental piece or a perfect present that should take pride of place wherever it is used or displayed.

Masur Birch:

Country of Origin: Finland.

A small to medium sized tree reaching a height of 12-20m and a diameter of 0.35m. Cream to white in colour, The flecks give a wondrful flame like effect, a very attractive figure. Straight to slightly curly grain, fine even texture. Used in high class furniture, panelling, often rotary veneered, and turnery.

Sonokeling Rosewood:

Sometimes confused with Indian Rosewood, Rosewood refers to a number of richly hued timbers, brownish with darker veining. All rosewoods are strong and heavy. Sonokeling has a broader colour range and is Very much sought after.
